(Error 550 or 530) Relaying not allowed

The outgoing mail server (SMTP) cannot verify who you are and will not allow you to send mail. You will need to change your outgoing mail (SMTP) settings to use your username and password for authentication.

Microsoft Outlook Express on Windows

   1. from the Inbox click on the Tools menu then choose Accounts
   2. click on the Properties button
   3. click on the Servers tab
   4. verify that the My server requires authentication check box under the Outgoing Mail Server section is checked
   5. click on the Settings button
   6. verify that the Use same settings as my incoming mail server option is selected
   7. click on the OK button to close the Properties pop-up
   8. click on the Close button to close the Accounts pop-up

Microsoft Outlook 2000/XP/2003 on Windows

   1. click on the Tools menu and choose Email Accounts
   2. verify that View or change existing e-mail accounts is selected then click on the Next button
   3. select the account that corresponds to your @domain.com account then click on the Change button
   4. click on the More Settings button
   5. click on the Outgoing Server tab
   6. verify that the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication check box is checked
   7. verify that the Use same settings as my incoming mail server option is selected
   8. click on the Advanced tab
   9. click on the Next button
  10. click on the Finish button
